As part of this week's changes to CIN - the CIO Information Network, we've launched a new, easier-to-use CIN Forum. If you're a longtime CIN user or a new reader, take a minute to register: Click here to take a look at the main Forum page, then click the "Register" button to sign up. (Or, click here to go directly to the registration page.)

We've introduced a new Forum software platform that makes it almost effortless to post a question, get answers from your peers, offer advice, or comment on articles and columns appearing on CIN.

We've created a discussion area with eight main topical sections for enterprise IT executives (CIOs, Directors of IT, CTOs) and other top-level IT professionals. It's easy to post: pick the most appropriate topic area from the list below and post your message. Main topics are:

  • Executive IT Management Issues
  • Career Development
  • Enterprise Hardware
  • General Software and Applications
  • Operating Systems and Platforms
  • Networks and Networking
  • Outsourcing
  • Security

A positive addition from the old forums: once you register and sign in for the first time, there's no need to sign in each time you visit the Forum page; the system recognizes you automatically.

When you register, you do not need to give your name and other personal details. You can also choose to hide your e-mail address from all users. But you do have the ability to receive an instant email notification when somebody answers your question or replies to your discussion thread.

For more information on new CIN Forum and tips on using it, read the Frequently Asked Questions list.
